Our Mission
We are seeking to be
a community of counter-cultural Christians
who love the life-transforming message of God’s grace and
who wish to model that message to the community around us through
community engagement, gospel proclamation and Christian practices.
Glossary:
1 Counter-cultural: anti-consumeristic, anti-individualistic
2 God’s grace: the unmerited, undeserved mercy and favor of God based on his kindness and goodness
3 Community engagement: we serve our community. We volunteer in ESL classes for newcomers, we are involved in families with children who need educational support. We offer it free of service, as we have received God’s free gift of grace. If you are interested in any of the following services: ESL class, tutoring of children and youth, please contact us, and we are happy to provide it for you free of charge.
4 Gospel proclamation: The gospel is good news to those who are in need. It is a new way of looking at the world with new lenses where God is at the center of our life, rather than the margins. It speaks of God who came down and suffered what humanity suffers, and who came to free us from the powers of sins and injustice by taking sin upon himself and carrying the consequences of it on the cross. And he was raised from the dead and ascended to heaven from which he came.
5 Christian practices: corporate worship, prayer, Bible, life groups, Children’s education, pastoral care
We believe in the Apostle’s Creed and the Nicene Creed
Apostle’s Creed
We believe in God, the Father almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
We believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord.
He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit
and born of the Virgin Mary.
He suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried.
He descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again.
He ascended into heaven,
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again
to judge the living and the dead.
We believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic Church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.
Nicene Creed
We believe in one God,
the Father almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all things visible and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
begotten from the Father before all ages,
God from God,
Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made;
of the same essence as the Father.
Through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation
he came down from heaven;
he became incarnate by the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary,
and was made human.
He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered and was buried.
The third day he rose again, according to the Scriptures.
He ascended to heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again with glory
to judge the living and the dead.
His kingdom will never end.
And we believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Lord, the giver of life.
He proceeds from the Father and the Son,
and with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified.
He spoke through the prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic church.
We affirm one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look forward to the resurrection of the dead,
and to life in the world to come. Amen.
Our Beliefs
Our Gospel
The gospel is good news about what God has done, is doing and will do through Jesus. It gives us purpose, hope and direction for our ministry.
The Gospel is important to us. What is the gospel? It is simply good news. It is good news that God cares. We are not abandoned. The gospel speaks of the freedom we can gain from the sins that enslave us. It speaks of the grace that God has given us through his free gift of salvation. It is free but it came at a great cost. God became Man and he lived and he suffered and he died on the cross. He did it for us to save us.
